ColdFront does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Location
If you grant location access, ColdFront uses your location solely on your device, to centre the map near you and to pick which airports to display. Your location is never sent to us or to any third party, and is not stored beyond the current session. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in Settings; the app remains fully usable — pan the map to any airport instead.
Data stored on your device
Your starred airports are saved on your device only, as a list of airport codes. They are not transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app removes them.
Network requests
To show current weather, ColdFront requests published aviation weather reports (METARs) from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at aviationweather.gov and tgftp.nws.noaa.gov. These requests identify airports by their ICAO code — for example EGNT — and contain no information about you, your device, or your location. Like any internet request, they include your IP address, which is handled by NOAA under its own privacy practices. NOAA’s policy: https://www.noaa.gov/privacy
Children
ColdFront collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
