This one was in my drafts and I just wanted to put it out there…

When you’re in the market for a new car – every walk down a street becomes a showroom, you start to notice makes and models of car, you have a sense of what they’re worth and what they do. Your mind is dialled into cars.
For me, gradually losing my hair has dialled me into men’s hair. I’ve recently been watching the Traitors and have been involuntarily admiring the contestants with thicker hair and observing the guys with thin hair. I hate myself for this because up until about 2020 it genuinely wouldn’t register, I wouldn’t remember if people had good hair or not, I didn’t give a shit. I noticed how handsome they were in a general sense, but I wouldn’t be conscious of how their hair factored into this. I’m now slightly embarrassed about how oblivious and naive I was about this topic.
In fact as a child I rememeber liking bald men more. There was something so clean and round about a smooth head. Thinning hair no – but a totally shaved head was not unpleasant.
When we visited China in 2023, I became more self conscious than ever, because they are so ahead of the curve and there was ads for hair transplants everywhere.
It cannot be unseen.
